Mission Accomplished! Trilogy Tuesday Awaits!

Verily, verily, I say unto you, I have never appreciated being from South Texas and living near the great city of Corpus Christi more than I have today. This is because last night I managed to get two tickets to Trilogy Tuesday for the breathtaking low price of $10.00! Admittedly, I feel profoundly sorry for the guy who bought the tickets and put them on eBay, but he obviously didn’t know that Corpus is on the edge of the Earth and that people are less likely to buy tickets for a show there. The eBay picture for the tickets shows that they were bought for $35.00 each, and so, as you can see, he got severely ripped off. Trilogy Tuesday tickets are selling for over $200 in Houston and San Antonio, but I don’t think this could have ever happened in Corpus. What I was afraid of was that someone from San Antonio, Austin, or Houston would say, “Hey, they’re out of tickets here–let’s just drive down to Corpus Christi, see the movie, and enjoy the beach. It’s only about 100 miles away.” This would have been, and was, my thinking, and I’m seriously surprised others didn’t do this. One hundred miles is not far for most Texans: for instance, my family has to drive 30 miles just to get to a decent grocery store. Admittedly, Corpus had already sold out by the time I learned about Trilogy Tuesday (see below), but I imagine that a lot of this was due to people like the guy I got my tickets from buying them in the hopes of selling them for astronomical prices. The poor people have probably never even been to Corpus! Anyway, so I’m happy. I would have written about this last night, but one of my big papers for the quarter was due today at noon and I couldn’t afford to waste any time. I still have one left to do, but it’s not due for a few days and, quite frankly, I don’t feel like doing anything at all. Except maybe taking a nap.
